How it works
What happens, in the order it happens
- 01Day 1
Step 1: A free call
Twenty minutes, weekdays or Saturday morning, by video or phone. Tell us who your family is and what you want the court to say.
- 02Within a day
Step 2: A written quote
The flat fee, a list of outside costs and a realistic range for your county, in one email.
- 03Week 1
Step 3: Signing and a shared folder
You sign the agreement online. We open a folder where you upload the documents on our list.
- 04Weeks 2 to 3
Step 4: Drafting and a review call
We draft the papers. You read them with us on a thirty-minute call, and then sign.
- 05Then the wait
Step 5: Filing
We file with the court and send you the case number and the hearing date.
- 06Hearing day
Step 6: The hearing and the decree
By video where the court allows, in the room where it doesn't. You leave with a decree and a plan for the birth certificate.
What we ask of you
A short folder to start
Most families already have everything on this list in a drawer or a phone.
You upload photos or scans. We tell you if anything is missing, and what to do about it, before we draft a page.
Photo ID for each adult
The child's birth certificate
Marriage records or earlier court orders, if there are any
Names and last-known addresses for any other legal parent

Anywhere in the state
Video does most of it
Calls
Every meeting is a video call or a phone call. The Bellevue office is for those who like paper and a table, by appointment.
Signing
Agreements and petitions are signed online. Anything the court needs inked, we mail with a return envelope.
Hearings
Many courts take a hearing by video. When yours won't, we tell you the courthouse and the date as soon as we know.
Take step one
A free twenty-minute call, weekdays or Saturday morning.
The first call is free. Court filing fees, home studies, background checks and any agency or clinic charges are separate, and we list each one beside your fee.
