“We'd been Eli's parents for six years. The papers took one video call, one evening of signing and one morning in court, and the fee was the number Mikaela quoted on day one.”

Flat fees
Pick your paperwork, we quote the fee
Each fee covers the whole matter, from the first draft to the signed decree, hearing included. We quote yours in writing after the free call.
Stepparent adoption
For a stepparent adopting a child they already parent. A contested adoption is quoted on its own, in writing.
What's includedConfirmatory adoption
For the second parent whose name is on the birth certificate but not yet on a court order. A known donor changes the papers.
What's includedAdoption finalization
For a family that already has a placement and needs the court to finish it. What's already signed sets what's left to do.
What's includedSurrogacy agreement
For intended parents: the agreement, the parentage order and the hearing. Where the surrogate lives and where the baby is born change the papers.

Families we help
Which family is yours?
Pick the closest one. Each opens a page with the steps, the timing and what the fee covers.

A stepparent who already parents
You've done the school runs for years. An adoption makes it legal.
Stepparent adoption
Two parents, one on the certificate
A court order that holds up when you travel, move or need it.
Confirmatory adoption
A family finishing an adoption
You have a placement. We take the papers to the final decree.
Adoption finalization
Intended parents and surrogacy
An agreement both lawyers have read, then a parentage order.
Surrogacy agreements
Said after the decree
“Two moms, one birth certificate, and a lawyer who explained why we wanted a court order anyway. Hiroshi told us what it would cost before we asked.”
“Our surrogacy agreement came with a cover letter in plain words. Our surrogate's lawyer asked for two changes and we signed the next week.”
Each family's case is different. These are sample comments, and what happened for one family does not predict what will happen for you.
Asked before the first call
Is the fee really flat?
Yes. You get a written quote before you hire us, and it covers the whole matter, hearing included. If something changes the work, we tell you before we do it.
Do you find children or match families?
No. We're lawyers, not an agency. We handle the legal papers and the court for families who already have a placement, a partner, a stepchild or a surrogate.
Do I have to come to Bellevue?
No. Calls, signing and most hearings can happen by video. If a judge wants you in the room, we tell you which courthouse and when.
What isn't in the fee?
Court filing fees, a social worker's home study, background checks and agency or clinic charges. They go to the court or the provider, and your quote lists each one.
How long will it take?
It depends on the court's calendar and how quickly signatures come back. On the free call we give you a realistic range for your county.
